Five basic principles underlying the designed product is by elaborating Ekowardono’s principles (2001), i.e., communicative, integrative, skill, procedural, and active engagement of students. The reading supplement prominently figures meaningful input from students local area and educating morals of Timorese discourse. These principles are also the framework used for quality assurance. The study shows that students as well as teacher which asked to give feedback on the pilot product appreciated the materials in terms of the content although there are some areas of the materials need to be improved to suit the students’ levels and expanded for more various learning activities modification.
